In my building there are 8 flats and everyone is fine. In fact I'm the noisiest after I've had a drink!

The street is a bit rough thou!

Thanks. :)

Yeah, Netflix is ruthless... if a show does the bring the numbers/ROI they require, it's a goner.

Having everything you need in walking distance sounds awesome! :) (If the neighbors are okay/reasonably quiet.)

Lighton, you always make good reasoned points. This is the second time, however, you've said to me: Maybe it's just not for you.

Okay, I accept that. I won't try and argue.

But they cancelled The OA! That show was the antithesis of a no risk production. TBF if they hadn't cancelled that I wouldn't have such a hate on for this crap. I got about half way thru ep 2 and gave up.

I can afford to do stuff whilst unemployed because: I used to work real hard and own my own place with no mortgage. I never had kids. I'm single (I've generally found women a drain on financial resources). I have no car, you don't really need one in the UK if you live in a decent sized town (I think that in the US you folks seems to call what we call villages towns and what we call towns cities). And I do live in a decent sized town. 10 min walk from a main line train station, bus stop at the end of my short road, three supermarkets within a 10 min walk, a butchers about 5 min walk away. Only thing I'm lacking is a decent green grocer! Oh and a wide variety of ethnic shops as well. Want authentic Chinese ingredients? 5 min walk. Afro-caribbean? Less. Nice place to live for someone who likes a simple life!

All the characters are extremely unlikeable. Acting very average. Script poor. Production values middling to poor. This will be consigned to the dustbin of TV history. At least until, in about 5 years, people start writing articles about how Netflix's business model ended up as such a colossal failure.

We have already established here that this show isn't for everyone. Maybe it's just not for you. :) And I love that Netflix is taking risks instead of producing yet another show that can't fail (but is totally boring as a result).

I've never seen Lost but I know the plot revolved around people mysteriously stuck on an island so kudos for originality.

Lost was great. There are many shows that share the same or similar plot elements, Lost is a totally different show (with a much higher budget).

I need to take some lessons from vapdne! How can you afford Netflix and joints while unemployed? What am I doing wrong?!?

It's not always about how much you earn, but often about how much you spend. Maybe you're spending too much money on booze and women... :P

Wow, Netflix just keeps going down in my estimation. They canceled The OA (one of the best sf/fantasy TV shows I have ever seen) and made this. Staggering.

I've only watched the first ep, and that whilst I was cooking and then eating dinner. And you know what? I'm gonna roll a joint and watch the next one with an open mind. But this is very unlikely to recover. If I wasn't unemployed I wouldn't go near ep 2.

What can i say, i liked it, but it had more potential which was rushed to conclude and yes the last episode/ending felt a bit off.

I wonder what the reason was for that. Running out of budget?

Anyway... I hope the folks behind the show will get another shot at trying something different in the future!
